{"id":550,"date":"2015-02-22T06:23:44","date_gmt":"2015-02-22T06:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/appliedecology.com.au\/coboven\/?page_id=550"},"modified":"2015-02-22T06:23:44","modified_gmt":"2015-02-22T06:23:44","slug":"about-the-clay","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/appliedecology.com.au\/coboven\/about-the-clay\/","title":{"rendered":"About the clay"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Where do you find clay and what do you do with it?<\/h3>\n<p>We sourced most of our clay from a friends farm, where piles of it lay around from being dug up from a damn. \u00a0We did two car trips and filled the boot each time. \u00a0You can look around your local area, building sites, back roads. \u00a0 White clay or grey clay is good. \u00a0 If you do use natural clay like this you will need to soak it for a few weeks (2 or 3), prior to using it so it softens to a point you can stomp on it during the cob making. \u00a0Otherwise it&#8217;s like stepping on rocks. \u00a0 You can buy powdered clay as well &#8211; which we used once in an emergency. \u00a0Which is so fine, it just needs a bit of water added to it and you are ready to go.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Where do you find clay and what do you do with it?
